Suit Filed against Bernalillo County to Obtain Compensation for Inmate who was Assaulted in Jail by Another Inmate Our client was an inmate at the Metropolitan Detention Center who suffered severe head and brain injuries when he was attacked by another inmate due to a dispute over a tablet computer. We intend to show that Bernalillo County created a dangerous situation in the jail by introducing a limited number of tablet computers into each pod of the jail and by failing to establish adequate protocols and systems to ensure that disputes regarding the tablet computers would not escalate into inmate-on-inmate violence. Lawsuit filed to Remove Otero County Commissioner Couy Griffin from Office In conjunction with Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (“CREW”), Freedman, Boyd, Hollander & Goldberg, P.A., and the Law Office of Amber Fayerberg, LLC, Dodd Law Office represents three New Mexican citizens in seeking to remove Otero County Commissioner Couy Griffin from office for his participation in the January 6, 2021 insurrection at the United States Capitol. Under Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment, if an individual takes an oath of office to uphold the United States Constitution and later engages in insurrection or rebellion, that person is disqualified from holding public office. This lawsuit seeks to establish that Mr. Griffin violated the oath he took to uphold the United States Constitution by participating in the January 6, 2021 insurrection at the United States Capitol.
